Recently I shared about my experience in Mexico at Jose Villa’s workshop and why it meant so much to me… aside from being totally inspired as an artist, one of the most incredible things I walked away with was a renewed appreciation for the other vendors that create such beautiful things.
As a photographer, I am only as good as the team I am surrounded by. I need others to help me create things that are beautiful and meaningful.
One thing that Jose does really well is surround himself with totally talented and incredible people. I was so blessed to be able to photograph some of the work of this team while in Mexico.
Here is the complete list of vendors who created the beautiful work in these images. Also I figured I better post these images before Jose gets around to posting his because I know his will pretty much blow all of these out of the water.

i can’t tell where the journey will end
but i know where to start
She was working part-time making smoothies. He was working at a movie-rental place (remember those?) Their stores happened to be right around the corner from each other … and from a distance she was scoping him out.
Then a co-worker went in and gave Ben April’s number. And so he called. They went on a date (it was great) and then he went on vacation for a few weeks.
April thought that maybe nothing would happen after that…but Ben came home from his trip with a present. I think it was M&M’s in her favorite color. Something to show her that he had in fact been thinking of her, and that something was going to happen.
And with that these two tattooed kids got together, got engaged, and packed up their lives to follow their dreams in Portland. I was lucky enough to photograph their sweet wedding at Sand Rock Farm in Aptos.
April + Ben – your unwavering trust in me as a photographer was such a gift to me this year, and came at a time when I really needed it. Thank you for being such amazing clients, you made me the luckiest photographer in the world.
It’s such a ridiculous honor to photograph a dear friend’s wedding.
Robin told me many years ago that I would photograph her wedding. And so we waited for Mark. We didn’t know what man we would wait for, but Mark exceeded every expectation. Silly and fun and honorable and … the way he looks at my friend. It’s worth waiting for the right one, my friends.
It’s days like these that make my job easy and sacred all at once.
Robin + Mark, thanks for bringing me to Phoenix in the fall and showing me the desert and allowing me to capture your love.

Hannah + Eric. Two peas in pod. Peanut butter + jelly. They are pretty great together.
Hannah and her family are very dear to my own. they are basically our family. ..and so to document this day was beyond perfect. I could not be happier to welcome Eric into the family as well.
Hannah’s amazing dress is by sarah seven (a personal favorite designer).
