I can always tell right away. If we are really going to understand each other.
At our first meeting, my little whiny dog sits with his sad eyes at the side door. He sits so low to the ground that you can barely make out his little face behind the door. But you can hear him whimpering and making his little bird calls to my clients who are trying to focus and tell me about their wedding, and how they got engaged, while he’s putting on his show.
And then they say, “Oh, you know, we love dogs. Can we meet him? He can come in! We don’t mind.”
And I’m trying to be stern because I know my little dog is going to misbehave and try to jump on them and wrestle with his toys with them, and basically, steal the show.
But the ones that get me, must know that I can’t say no to this kind of thing. And so it happens that from time to time, these people that love their dogs too much… we find each other.
And it’s actually pretty great.
And sometimes, I get to meet their little one. (Wait, should I not be talking about them like they are children?) And even if they steal the show, and bark at my camera, and generally misbehave, we all pretend to be annoyed, and in reality, we all love it.
And so it was with Paige, James + Honey.

Honey whined the whole time we shot these few in Paige + James’ apartment (we made her stay in the room so we could have a quiet moment before braving the San Francisco winds again…).

Something else I love… getting to revisit the spot where my couples got engaged. There’s something magic that lives in the air there.

I love dogs too much, too! Honey is adorable and you got some really great shots of all of them :)
that last shot?! stop it. My favorite! Love this session! Especially the shots in their home!
That guy has French color and fashion down pat. Salmon pants, boat shoes… :)
