fun 101 : recap

March 7

alright friends, here is the deal : teaching is terrifying.

honestly, there aren’t a lot of things that scare me : but trying to explain a concept to someone is a true test of your knowledge on that concept, and it a difficult task!

…and truly, I am still learning with photography! but if I used that as an excuse, I would be missing out on the absolute joy that this photography workshop is.

I love simplifying photography for others:

To make it tangible, and then, to see them really GET IT, and then go out and share their passion through photography – that’s exciting!

I had 7 wonderful attendee’s… I am so grateful for each one of them. We each shared about our specific passions in life, the things that make us talk faster and light up our eyes, and I challenged each of them to take photography, and tell the story of those passions to the world.

I can’t wait to see the stories you share.

If you want to join in on this project, check out the gem photo facebook page, where the fun101 attendee’s will be posting their own personal assignments, sharing their passion with us through photography.

encourage them. give them feedback. nothing would make me happier that being a community of people for each other.

here are some images from our day together last saturday…

a little candy to go with note-taking equipment. essential to the learning process, in my humble opinion.

next time I’m going to have Aaron warn me when he takes the picture…. it’s hard to look cute when you are concentrating…

after we spent some time going over the basics of photography, we had a little hands-on practice in our backyard. next time I think we will make a little more time to go somewhere more glamorous….

showing each attendee how to use the natural reflectors in the backyard, while also being their own models…
